Bussen in Noord-Korea

Met dank aan internet zien we tegenwoordig foto’s van voertuigen uit alle landen van de wereld. Waar mensen zijn is internet lijkt het wel. Er is echter één land waar we maar heel weinig van zien, ondanks dat ze vaak in het nieuws zijn. Noord-Korea! Mijn verbazing was dan ook groot toen ik Douglas Cheng vijf foto’s van bussen uit dit land op de bus-idee facebookpage zag posten! Even gevraagd of ik de foto’s mocht gebruiken en hoera, vol trots presenteer ik u een blik achter de normaal gesloten deuren van het personenvervoer in Noord-Korea! De eerste bus is een Japanse Fuso MS, de rest zijn allemaal van het Chinese merk King Long, wat ook in Europa verkocht word. Zo rijdt Arriva op Malta met dit merk.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), or commonly called North Korea, was formally established in 1948. It has been governed by the Workers’ Party of Korea. The Eternal President Kim Il Sung proposed the Juche ideology of self-reliance, and the government follows it to rule the country.

Tourism was highly controlled by the government. Approximately, 3,000-4,000 foreign tourists are allowed to visit North Korea each year. The tours was mostly organized by the state-owned travel agency – Korea International Travel Company (KITC), and other official companies. Touring buses in North Korea was mostly owned by KITC. The fleet consists of second hand buses from Japan, China and South Korea, and some of them are brand new coaches from Chinese bus manufacturers, such as King Long and Yutong.
