10,000th Mercedes-Benz for Rethmann SE & Co. KG

What started in 1959 with the purchase of the first Mercedes-Benz truck by haulier Josef Rethmann Senior has now become a very special “stellar moment” with the handover of the 10,000th Mercedes-Benz at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth.
Mercedes-Benz Arocs
Rethmann, a family-owned company in existence since 1934 with its head office in the Westphalian town of Selm, today operates successfully as Rethmann Group on a national and international level in the water, recycling, logistics and bio-industries. The company embodies reliable services, customer-focused approach and pioneering ideas. The Group currently comprises three companies, namely Remondis, Rhenus Logistics and Saria.

The anniversary Arocs was handed over during a ceremony by Andreas Schmid, Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Sales and Services Germany: “We want to sincerely thank the companies of Rethmann Group for their confidence in the brand Mercedes-Benz over the past five-plus decades. We will continue to be fully committed to justifying this confidence and to advancing our products and services to the satisfaction of the customer. ”

State-of-the-art Euro VI engines for sustainable services
The anniversary vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3236 L 8×4. The 32-tonne vehicle is equipped with a particularly clean 10.7-litre OM 470 Euro VI engine rated at 265 kW (360 hp). In conjunction with the automated Mercedes PowerShift 3 transmission, it embodies fuel efficiency and minimised CO2 emissions while delivering top performance on the road.

The 4-axle chassis with ClassicSpace cab is fitted with a Rotopress-525 body from Faun Company and will be used as a waste collection vehicle for household waste at a Remondis branch in Eastern Germany. Remondis is one of the world’s largest service providers for recycling, service and water management. The company employs more than 30,000 people at about 500 locations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Thomas Conzendorf, Member of the Remondis Executive Board: “As a corporate group, we are very proud to already take over the 10,000th vehicle from our long-standing partner Mercedes-Benz today – but we are equally proud of our outstanding carbon footprint. We focus on the reduction of pollutants as part of our sustainability efforts. For this reason we exclusively rely on trucks with the best operational efficiency for our fleet and this vehicle definitely delivers that.”
