Volvo Trucks:

Daimler Truck:
Mercedes-Benz Trucks at bauma 2025: Sustainable vehicle, service, and mobility solutions for construction transport
Whether it’s road and pathway construction, material transport, temporary infrastructure, or complex traffic conditions, few sectors face such demanding operational challenges as construction transport. The vehicles used must meet exceptionally high standards, particularly in terms of robustness, reliability, efficiency, and safety. At the same time future-oriented technologies for the decarbonization of transportation are becoming an increasingly central focus when it comes to construction transport. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is tackling all these challenges with innovative solutions, as demonstrated once again by the company’s presence at this year’s bauma, taking place from April 7 to 13, 2025.

At the world’s leading trade fair for the construction industry, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will showcase more than 40 vehicles with a range of application solutions at its own exhibition stand in Hall B4 (Stand 141), as well as at various body manufacturers. These vehicles cover almost the entire segment, whether powered by a conventional diesel engine or a battery-electric drive. The manufacturer will also provide insights into its service and mobility solutions, tools, and its new brand, TruckCharge.

Rugged, powerful – and now also battery-electric: The new Mercedes-Benz eArocs 400
With its performance and durability both on and off road, the Arocs has been a major player in the construction transport industry for years. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is now expanding its battery-electric portfolio with another vehicle: The Mercedes-Benz eArocs 400. As part of its world premiere at this year’s bauma trade fair, the manufacturer will provide in-depth information about the new battery-electric truck and highlight the advantages of e-mobility in construction transport.

Strictly limited: The Mercedes-Benz Arocs Extent
With the Mercedes-Benz Arocs Extent, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is enhancing its construction-focused model series even further. This special edition, strictly limited to just 100 units, stands out with its exclusive design. The front-end flap of the model, set to go into production in July 2025, features a refined Arocs lettering in dark chrome. A special plaque on the exterior further distinguishes this limited-edition model. For a high level of recognition, the truck features custom decals on the sun visor and front-end flap, along with a decorative grille in a specially developed matte Weather Gray finish.

Additional standout features of the Arocs Extent include a black panel behind the Mercedes-Benz star in dark chrome, LED headlights, additional LED headlights integrated into the sun visor, carbon-look trim elements, premium stainless steel axle caps and wheel nut covers, a leather steering wheel, and the Extra Line package. The truck is powered either by the third-generation Euro VI diesel engine OM 471 or the OM 473, the largest Euro VI diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Another highlight of the Mercedes-Benz Arocs Extent is the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, which has been installed as either a standard or special equipment in all Arocs and Actros models since this spring, depending on the driver’s cab configuration.

Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 with voice control and enhanced connectivity
With the new Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, the Arocs is more connected and optimized than ever for daily construction site operation. The 12-inch instrument display and improved touchscreen ensure intuitive operation – even on rough terrain. Many functions can now be activated safely and quickly via voice control. The new Favorites menu also allows direct access to construction-specific functions such as power take-offs. Another new feature is the integration of the latest truck navigation system and its route data with the Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC) system, further optimizing precise, anticipatory driving. The Remote Truck App 3.0 also enables remote management of key vehicle functions.

TruckLive: Connected from the very first second
The Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 also provides access to a range of connectivity solution features through TruckLive, offering significant benefits for fleet operators as well as drivers. This applies to both, the battery-electric eActros 600 and traditional diesel vehicles. For example, Live Traffic is a useful module for on-the-go and short-term scheduling. Real-time traffic data enables dynamic route calculation, which can cut driving times and help to plan arrival times with greater precision.

The Connected Traffic Warnings function helps to improve safety by detecting and forwarding hazard warnings to vehicles nearby. Drivers see current traffic events on the vehicle map or as a pop-up window in the instrument cluster. In addition, there are also audible warnings ten seconds before the respective event. The module can warn of a total of ten types of danger, including accidents, fog, heavy rain, construction sites, and slippery roads.

The latest feature, Mercedes-Benz Trucks Remote 3.0, which is integrated with the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, serves as the digital interface between the user and their Mercedes‑Benz truck. Important status information, such as battery level, state of charge, and push notifications can be accessed in the mobile app.

Another feature of TruckLive is Maintenance Management, which helps improve maintenance planning with up-to-date maintenance interval forecasts. In addition, fleet operators can always keep the vehicle software up to date effortlessly with over-the-air updates. This works almost anytime and anywhere, reducing the need for frequent workshop visits.

With the new Service24h Connected feature, fleet operators can now report a breakdown online to Mercedes-Benz Trucks Service24h. The online report is submitted via the My TruckPoint for Mercedes-Benz Trucks digital customer portal, saving time compared with calling the breakdown hotline. Thanks to centralized vehicle management, most information about the affected truck is pre-filled automatically. TruckLive also enables the transmission of diagnostic data and the vehicle’s current location. This helps the Service24h technicians prepare effectively for breakdown situations.

Built for tough jobs
For diesel trucks in the Actros and Arocs model series, the switchable hydraulic front wheel drive, Hydraulic Auxiliary Drive (HAD), makes hard work significantly easier. HAD works up to a speed of 30 km/h and generates the necessary amount of additional traction to cope with demanding gradients and other situations, even on slippery roads. Compared with conventional all-wheel drive systems, HAD also saves fuel and reduces weight.

The fluid coupling is another feature designed for tough conditions. As a combination of a hydraulic start-off clutch and a retarder within a single component, it enables smooth and precise maneuvering, even under heavy loads and at extremely low speeds – all without wear and tear. Together with the High Performance Engine Brake, the turbo retarder clutch also delivers up to 750 kW of braking power and a braking torque of up to 3,000 Nm – again, completely wear-free.

For particularly heavy loads, Mercedes-Benz Trucks offers the Arocs SLT. Equipped with powerful Euro VI diesel engines (OM 471 or OM 473), this vehicle can transport a gross vehicle weight of up to 500 metric tons to construction sites. To handle such loads, it features an exceptionally robust chassis, suspension, and frame construction. In its variant with a four-bellows air suspension system and a trailer coupling, it can optionally tow up to 1,000 metric tons.

Attentive assistants on board
A key priority for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, especially in construction transport, is ensuring that drivers remain safe – both on site and en route. To achieve this, various assistance systems available in different model series help drivers detect hazards early, brake in time, and maintain a clear view of traffic conditions. These electronic aids are particularly useful in mitigating the risks of inattentiveness caused by fatigue, stress, or distraction, reducing the chances of serious consequences for all involved.

Thanks to Active Brake Assist 6, Active Sideguard Assist 2, Front Guard Assist, Active Drive Assist 3, Traffic Sign Assist, and the Attention Assist system – just to name a few – the company is once again reinforcing its position as one of the pioneers in the industry with these safety features. The systems not only comply with the standards of the General Safety Regulation (GSR) issued by the EU, which have been in force since 2022 and 2024 respectively, but in some cases exceed them in scope.

For example, Active Brake Assist 6 can now perform automated maximum full-stop braking at speeds of up to 60 km/h when detecting crossing, oncoming, or lane-traveling road users. The European General Safety Regulation (GSR) III only mandates braking for crossing pedestrians and cyclists in new trucks and buses from September 2028. Another example is Active Sideguard Assist 2, which, if an issue is detected in the red monitoring zone, can initiate an automated braking maneuver at turning speeds of up to 20 km/h, bringing the vehicle to a standstill should the driver not respond to acoustic and visual warnings. At this point, the GSR merely requires that sideguard assist provide a warning if needed.

With all these assistance systems, Mercedes-Benz Trucks aims to provide the driver with the best possible support when driving the vehicle within the system limits. However, the driver remains fully responsible for driving the vehicle safely at all times, as is also required by law.

Atego now equipped with all safety features
Besides the Arocs models showcased at bauma 2025, the Atego – known for its maneuverability and versatility on construction sites and in related industries – is now also equipped with the latest safety assistance systems, ensuring a high level of protection in everyday traffic. The Atego 1530 K 4×2 displayed at bauma is equipped with a Classic S cab and a Comfort Cockpit, and its powerful drive is provided by the proven Euro VI diesel engine OM 936, delivering 220 kW (299 hp). This Atego is outfitted with the Trigenius dump truck from Meiller.

Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks: Unimog, Zetros, and Econic for specific construction challenges
Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks offers a range of vehicles with versatile applications and tailored solutions for the diverse demands encountered both on and off the construction site. The Unimog, a highly specialized implement carrier from the U 219 to U 535 model series, impresses with its versatility, offering up to four attachment and mounting areas. The latest features, like the intuitive UNI-TOUCH® on-board computer and advanced safety assistance systems, enhance efficiency and safety in daily operations. For off-road applications, the highly capable Unimog U 4023/U 5023 is the perfect companion. The Unimog’s frame and chassis are built for extreme conditions: With all-wheel drive, portal axles, and a fording depth of up to 1.2 meters, it delivers exceptional off-road capability.

In urban construction-site haulage, the Mercedes-Benz eEconic sets new benchmarks. Thanks to its low-entry cab, it provides excellent visibility of pedestrians and cyclists, significantly enhancing safety in city environments. In addition, its all-electric drive enables environmentally friendly mobility, supporting sustainable construction projects. The Zetros expands the product range of special-purpose vehicles as an off-road cab-behind-engine truck designed for export markets and available only in Euro III and V emissions standards. With permanent all-wheel drive and the load capacity of a heavy-duty truck, it is well-suited for demanding tasks – and is now also available as an 8×8 version.

Versatility for the construction sector: Daimler Truck brand FUSO is presenting three variants of the Canter at bauma 2025
At this year’s bauma (7-13th April in Munich), the Daimler Truck brand FUSO is again demonstrating the versatility and exceptional ease of body mounting of the FUSO Canter in construction applications. In Hall B4, at booth 233, right next to Mercedes-Benz Trucks booth, and on the bauma outdoor grounds, visitors will be able to experience the FUSO Canter and eCanter in three different variants for a wide range of applications.

With either electric or conventional drive: New FUSO Canter and eCanter are versatile partners for construction or landscaping tasks
The all-electric FUSO Next Generation eCanter 7C18e 7.49 t as a Meiller Trigenius three-way tipper in a moss green paint finish is on display at the booth. The model on display (length 5.700 mm, width: 2.400 mm, height: 2.210 mm) shows all the new comfort and safety features from the 2024 update. The vehicle has a payload of around 3.6 t. The Meiller Trigenius side tipper body is characterised by its convenient and safe side wall operation (Meiller Bordmatic). A LED light ensures safe operation on both sides. The pendulum and fold-down side walls are easy to open and close manually, even by a single person, thanks to the relief system with spring mechanism. All side and rear wall locks have a standardized operating concept. The Meiller Trigenius three-way tipper offers extremely flexible and practical load securing with sturdy lashing lugs on the side panels (up to 2 t tensile force) and floor level (up to 8 t tensile force).

The vehicle has a mechanical power take-off (mPTO) that supplies the tipping hydraulics. The electric light-duty truck on display has an S-battery; a battery charge provides a range of 70 km. With the 7.49 t eCanter with S-battery, FUSO is offering a new, additional model configuration starting this year. This means that the eCanter can carry significantly more payload for use in the construction industry, opening up a wider range of applications for customers who use electric vehicles. As before, the Next Generation eCanter is available with two other battery configurations and, depending on the configuration, has a range of up to 200 km (on a single charge).

FUSO will show on the booth as well a wallbox available in the FUSO portfolio, as well as alternative low-cost AC charging solutions such as the NRG Kick charging cable.

In addition, FUSO is showing a diesel-powered 6.0-tonne Canter 6S15 in natural white with a WEHA flatbed body and crane, demonstrating another typical application for the light-duty truck in the construction industry. This variant, with a standard cab and small external dimensions (length 5.200 mm, width 2.200 mm, height 2.137 mm), is particularly maneuverable and is therefore ideal for demanding transport tasks and heavy loads on narrow roads.

FUSO on the bauma outdoor grounds
On the outdoor grounds of bauma 2025, FUSO is presenting a Canter 9C18 with Palfinger roll-off tipper. The 8.55-tonne model from the Canter portfolio offers an outstanding payload balance with its almost 6 t chassis load capacity and a permissible gross train weight (GVW) of up to 12.05 t. The Palfinger roll-off tipper has an automatic sequence control for particularly easy operation. The various hydraulic functions of the superstructure are carried out automatically and one after the other.

All FUSO trucks shown at bauma are equipped with the new comfort and safety features (available since summer 2024). With this model update, all diesel-powered vehicles have also received a comprehensive new interior for the driver’s cab.

Renault Trucks Nederland:

Betontransport vereist vaak zware laadvermogens.

bauma:
Solutions for the mining of the future
The global mining industry faces the challenge of securing the economic supply of raw materials while minimizing negative impacts on the environment, climate and people. Dealing with this “mining challenge” is one of the key topics of bauma 2025. The world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment will be held from April 7 to 13 at the Munich exhibition center. It shows which innovative solutions will be used to make mining even more efficient, safe and sustainable in the future.

E-charger on board
Many mining companies have set themselves ambitious targets for reducing emissions in the interests of climate protection, but also for reducing exhaust emissions underground for operational benefits. One approach to decarbonization that has been pursued for some time is the switch to alternative drives. At bauma 2025, this trend will continue with a wealth of ideas. For example, the manufacturer Aramine is presenting the L440B, the only battery-powered charger to date that does not require a fixed infrastructure for charging in the mine. Instead, it has an integrated charger that can be used to charge it anywhere as long as a power connection is available. This saves expensive and complex installations. As the machine’s battery unit can be easily connected and disconnected, it is possible to carry out work without interruption thanks to the alternating use of two batteries.

In order to generate the electricity used in the machines directly in the mine with zero local emissions, Aramine and its partner company Tysilio also offer solar power plants that can be transported by container and set up quickly—a concept that benefits in particular remote locations.

Giant excavator with power cable
Komatsu is bringing a true titan among electrified mining machines to the Bavarian capital: The PC7000-11E large hydraulic excavator, which is powered by a power cable, is equipped with a class-leading 44 m³ backhoe bucket. It combines high digging power with a low carbon footprint. The automatic winding of the cable makes maneuvering in open cast mining safe and easy.

Autonomous solutions in different dimensions
Another mining giant that also combines decarbonization with the topic of “autonomous driving”, highly relevant especially in mining, is the T 264 dump truck. Developed by Liebherr in collaboration with the Australian mining group Fortescue, the machine is equipped with a 3.2 MW battery and has a payload of 240 tons.

The battery powered S1 Vision, also from Liebherr, transports material autonomously—but in a completely different way. The new single-axle vehicle only has two tires, which allows it to turn on the spot and drive in all directions, making it ideal for use in confined spaces. It is scalable and can carry a payload of 220 kilograms to 131 tons. The S1 Vision has been nominated for the bauma Innovation Award in the machine technology category.

Networking machine data with each other
Digital transformation plays a key role in optimizing mining processes. One of the innovations on show at bauma 2025 in this area is the Underground Manager 2.0. Epiroc’s digital solution for tunnel construction projects seamlessly connects machine data from different units. The platform supports the management of drilling, grouting and anchoring works and acts as a centralized system for streamlined project execution. The Underground Manager 2.0 enables precise planning, real-time performance evaluation and comprehensive operational reporting.

Intelligent thanks to on-board diagnostics
The Universa 55 from Paus is the next, smart generation of a compact carrier machine for various mining tasks. With their on-board diagnostics, the driver can monitor important operating data in real time, including the sensors of the control elements. The system also supports the diagnosis of active faults, enabling timely intervention to minimize downtime. In addition, the vehicle is pre-equipped as standard with an interface for connecting to a cloud solution from Paus, which offers functions such as real-time monitoring, geofencing, statistical analyses and remote diagnostics and maintenance.

bauma Press:
German Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Building Geywitz, Bavaria’s Minister President Söder, and Mayor Reiter will open bauma
bauma, the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment, will take place at the Munich exhibition center from April 7 to 13. The trade fair will be opened on April 7 at 09.30 a.m. by Klara Geywitz, German Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Building, Bavaria’s Minister President Dr. Markus Söder and Munich’s Mayor Dieter Reiter together with the CEO of Messe München, Stefan Rummel in the Restaurant Turmblick (East Entrance, 1st floor). Media representatives will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos and videos. The official tour of the trade fair will then begin.

“bauma is more than just a world-leading trade fair. It is the heartbeat of the industry. The impetus provided by bauma and its exhibitors has a decisive influence on the markets. We are delighted this year to welcome over 3,500 exhibitors from 57 countries to the exhibition center in Riem. The focus is on future guidelines for the industry: digitalization and sustainability,” says CEO Stefan Rummel.

They are reflected in the five key topics, which will be brought to life in the supporting program and through exhibitors’ innovations: climate neutrality, alternative drive concepts, networked construction, sustainable construction, and the mining challenge. After all, the construction sector is currently still responsible worldwide for around 38% of carbon emissions, of which around 10% are attributable to construction processes and the production of building materials. The carbon footprint can be significantly reduced by integrating innovative, climate-neutral technologies such as electric wheel loaders and autonomous excavators, and using sustainable building materials. bauma is a crucial platform for presenting innovative, climate-friendly technologies that help decarbonize the industry and support the EU target of climate neutrality by 2050.

Interesting and strange facts
The number of innovations being presented for the first time at bauma shows just how much movement there is in the industry and how committed manufacturers are to—often also ecological—further development. Wirtgen, for example, is presenting no fewer than 45 world premieres this year. Doka is bringing along a total of 30 new products and its 30-meter-high scaffold tower is a real eye-catcher. 180 steps have to be climbed to enjoy the view from the very top. The tower comprises 12,340 components and weighs 67 tons in total. The tower is also easy to see thanks to the 113 square meter Sitelight LEDs. Equally impressive is the CC 78.1250-1 lattice boom crawler crane from Tadano Faun, which weighs in at an impressive total of 996 tons—roughly equivalent to the weight of 100 African bull elephants. But the topic of climate friendliness is also very much in focus. Volvo Construction, for example, will be represented at this year’s bauma for the first time with a wide range of purely electrical, emission-free machines.
